i just downloaded and installed the patch but can u give me a way to make sure that i did it right ?

as in the fm07 u can see the gam eversion on the left corner ....

should be able to find the game version somewhere mate, alternatively check some of the fix list to see if any of the changes are made.

i know, i did check but with the patch is mainly for the bugs so its hard to find the correction .
how did u make sure that the patch is installed ?

There are 2 ways of finding out:

1. When you start a New Game, you can see if you have the option to choose 8.0.1 update

2. In the Welcome screen you can click the Check for Updates and it will guide you there. However, it might give you a wrong impression, by stating that there is newer version available but it cant be found and that you can retry later.

So I would go for the first option.

Althogh I cant see how someone could forget that they installed a patch :p

When you load up the game, at the top it says football manager 2008, underneath it should say version 8.0.1 if it does, your patch is installed.

When your players are through on goal they shoot straight at the keeper.
