Not to mention the fact you've decreased his value by transfer listing him and setting him to "not needed". Still daft I know but this has been a problem in previous FM's as well.

Perhaps my post wasn't the most ideal of replies but it seems barely a day goes by without this kind of topic appearing, there are plenty of posts about regarding the issues people have with the games and surely it would have been better to join those discussions than make a post which was clearly going to get this kind of reaction and bickering going?

i wanted to sell because i signed henri saivet and i only play one up front and had reasonable enough back-up. he was on £8k a week, and had netted 75 league goals in two seasons, with stats like that barcelona would be interested!!!

No, they wouldn't. If he'd scored 75 goals in 2 EPL seasons on £8k a week they would be, but not EC goals. That record at that level wouldn't even get him recognised by Barca or most other non-English clubs.

He should interest a number of EPL clubs and quite a few EC clubs though.

but a top EPL club might be interested in a similar way chelsea bought sidwell,
and it is not impossible that barca might be interested,
you have to remember this isn't real life, and if eastwood scores 75 in two seasons in the championship he could score 20+ in the prem rendering him a quality striker in one of the best leagues in the world,
you can't assume the eastwood irl is the same as the eastwood in my game where he scores absurdly

There are some things in the game that really cannot be defended.

I've now lost 7 times in 11 games against "grey" teams.

As this has obviously impacted on my cup runs, (and as a result prize money), we are now £498,886 o/d, (despite never spending a single penny on a single player, and despite never going over my wage budget).

If I get sacked because of this, (and it's becoming more and more likely that I will because I seem unable to sell any players for anything more than about £2,000), then I think I will give up on the game too.

The original poster has every right to post his opening comment. It's done it a reasonable and articulate manner.

It's a little sad that some of the above posters want to ridicule the original poster, yet none of them seem to be able to provide details of how much they have managed to sell players of a similar ability to Eastwood for.

There are significat issues within the game, (even after the patch), and blind defense of the problem, (and ridiculing of posters who post criticism), does nothing to help the situation.

ncfcgee, RTHerringone, bRaziL, & McDoul. Your posts offered absolutely nothing to a reasonable thread and in fact diminished it's content. If posters like yourself continue in this way this forum will soon be dead, (even more deader than it is now if that's possible).

Perhaps you should save your ire for some threads that deserve counter criticism, (of which there are oh so many).

Jimbo, do you not think that real life lower league managers sometimes lose to weaker sides (grey sides), and have trouble with their finances, and I daresay that some of them get sacked because of their financial situation.

I could argue that in losing some matches and denying yourself the chance to earn money, you could be held to blame for poorer finances.

Also, if you've signed any player, thereby bloating the wage bill or paying out signing on fees, etc, then you could also be blamed for the finances.


Just because things aren't going your way, it's no need to throw the toys out of the pram and stop playing the game.

As a Norwich City fan i can 100% assure you that losing to much lower opposition in cup games that often can and does happen.
