ok i am talking out of my backside, it likely does still work for fm08 if you place the .ddt file in db/800/edt folder. im trying to get it to work now

Retaining players from a nation will load all players of that nationality into the game regardless of the database size you select. when you set up a new game on the screen where you pick the leagues theres an option called 'Load All Players From' and allows you select one nation to load all of the known players from that country (useful for small nation international management where you want a decent pool to pick players from).

The RETAIN_NATION_PLAYERS.ddt file people are talking about in the other thread are so you can load more than one nations players, so you can use it to have a larger database regardless of leagues you select and database size, although they will both help to make it even bigger.

Cheers mate. This could save time with having huge database file then. and you get to pick and choose which counties you want. Nice.
