It is possible to choose huge database, yes.

But does it really makes any difference against large? Have anybody checked it up if there are more persons and teams in the game?

Ok this just seems to show you the Huge database option, but does it give you the extra players to with it??

Okay, please can someone help me out with this?

I've downloaded the panels file, and replaced the original with it, but this doesn't give me the huge option.

Then I tried unticking all the extra file options in preferences, closed the game, restarted, and it wasn't there. So I reticked them all, restarted the game and it still wasn't there.

Please can somebody tell me what I need to do?

Anyone having problems seeing it you need to untick Skin Cache from the preferences and then restart FM08. When you go to start a new game it should then be there, you should also be able to tick skin cache again and it will still be there.

this should be stickied in football manager discussion, whenever someone asks for the huge database they get told (by an idiot) there is no way; and that the only way is to restore players from nation at the beggining of the game.

Cheers MD. It works, but following your post in the other forum, I'm considering not using it. I like to play quite longterm games, and you're suggesting that this might mess with regens, etc.

If I want more players, do you suggest that I'm better off retaining players from countries, and adding other countries as playable leagues?

I think it makes the game more fun, I like finding those rare cheap gems out there in the world which is very limited with only the large db. The large db is way too small. And yes, I could tick the "load all players from", but I don't want all players just some of them.

I've never had any problems with huge db messing up things.

Well I've never actually tried the retaining players from countries trick so I couldn't actually tell you to be honest.

But anyway its worth noting that the thread that was linked in the other forum ( http://community.sigames.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/7171989...23108841/r/132102941 ) is actually for FM07 and talks about editing a ddt file. For FM08 they actually changed the format of the files from ddt to fmf so the info given to add what you need to wont be correct for FM08.

scratch that, its actually for CM, not FM07! so yeah its not really of much use to you
