Can anyone list the formations that can counter each different formation?

ive an idea, but im not too good at this tactic shizzle

same tactic. or just reverse so,
4-4-2 X 2-4-4
4-3-3 x 3-3-4

or if we can say "the best defence is attacking" then if team x is defending then team y should attack by defending.

This used to work a treat on 06, but have tested it to death on 07 and it no longer works.

For example i always used a 4231 against a standard 442 with short farrows on 06 that could easily outplay even the top four(even when playing as a side trying to stave off relegation).

Trouble was, the AI would switch formation constantly and in 06 switching your own formation this way seemed to confuse your players, who would struggle to adapt.

Yes it doesn't work.Iplayed well with 2-4-4 against 4-4-2 with no farrows and when Brasov(my opposition changed to 4-4-2 with short farrow) I failed.

no ofcorse it wont work. and dont try attacking by defending also.

i meant that you have to counter the type of play more than the formation and i dont think it is possible to write a counter to each different formation.

Yes I have found some formations to be effective against others.

The difficulty arises establishing if the AI is playing attack or defense style on any particular formation, but the scout should be able to determine the likelihood of this.

The AI will often change to get a late goal also so you should have a formation prepared for this event, the ai usually chooses an attacking 442 with 2 long farrows or the less subtle 424

I also tried to play like AI does ( I mean 4-2-4).It's useful against weak teams, but against some like Milan,Roma or Fiorentina it's suicide (if you play Seria A).
Second what I noticed is countering 4-2-4 with 4-4-2 long farrows,and FR rarely to FB's.
I beat 3-5-2 on flanks.A 4-3-3 it's very good.
I have great problems against 4-4-1-1.Any advices,please.

when the AI play attack.. then u should play defend

when the AT play defend.. then u should play attack.

this is what i did.. in season 3.. my norwich team keep beating big team.
