Firstly I'm playing at a fairly low level (Brazilian Third Division). I began the season playing an attacking 5-3-2 with mixed passing/mentality/tempo etc. We won a couple of games and picked up a few draws and also lost a few but I felt that we weren't doing enough to win the matches and that if we continued to with the same game plan our we would not pick up points. I felt that if we tightened things up we could be alot more effective, I'm still playing 5-3-2 but with a slow tempo (the heat is an issue) and I want to use to work the ball and control possession. I'm also playing a short passing game. Since this I've been unable to score goals, we're not playing with a defensive mentality and we're without a win in four and have scored just once.

Any advice?

do you get any shots on targets?

are those shots sitters or blazing 20 yarders?

How is your possession?

How is your passing %?

If you play short and slow you should look to win both the passing % and the possession, you must also make shure there are pople to pass to, setting a whole team on short/slow with almost no runs will make them sitting ducks for the defence.

consider 1 or more free roles in the team to shake it up a bit.

Also to give it that attacking edge more through balls will need to be made.

1 or 2 holding up the ball might be a good idea to let the players find good positions.

Try to give more info on what works and what does not work, simply saying that we don't score anymore doesn't say much. You could have 50 shots on target and you could have 0

Well it possible. I win second division and was promoted to first. But my team was in debt and without wages. So i was going to be relegated by media. What i did was to play wit on sweeper, 3 center backs, 2 full backs, 2 center mid one amc and one striker. Both fullback with arrows. I sold all the players i copuld and buy a cheap fast, of the ball, jumping and heading target striker. and i was king of draws and won like 6 games so i get a little low mid table and wasnt relegated.

Personally speaking, Ive found the 532 almost impossible to make work if thats any help, my advice is to forget wing backs.

Maybe one day I'll crack it but tried a lot and no go

i would normally agree, but i like to paly with wingbacks, and i have now found a tactic that does work. its the boskovic one (with some tweaks by me), and that seems to be working atm. although normally my tactics only work for a few games then i start losing again).

A big well done to you Milan Cveticanin. but seriously did you even read Irving's post? he was in debt and had a low wage budjet, insted of being able to buy players to strenghtn his squad he had to sell.

ofcourse it's always like that with small squads
Leigh is originaly in conference north
you need not to buy players,you sign them from free
expecionaly young players with no club(15-16 years old) also try to give tham ful time contract(not part time)when they have 17
you can sell few of them and still have enough to play well(i sell one in my second year(conference national) to everton fo 2.7m)and finish vith my financial problems
also there are frendly metches with biger clubs to gain money
