I only manage to get a defensive tactic working if i play a 451. so i cna pack the midfield so as to not give the other team space, Then i can counter attack fast with runners from midfield.

The problem with a 532 is it allows the other teams full back alot of time to play deep crosses. try making your tactic 541. That way u can get you midfield four nice and narrow. Letting your fullbacks over lap like wingers. Lots of player making forward runs, but keep one cm defensive.

That should help both in defending and scoring goals.

Milan ur funny. I was in an extream situation, no money, no wage, only bad players wanted to sign with me. So i just have to adapt with that tactic. an it fuction. now in my second year i got little more money so now i coul sign a good midfilder and gk. So using the same tactic im now on 9 position in leage. So using a defensive tactic is not that bad but maybe i will not have succes on winind div one but in 2 more year ill have my team without debt and change tactic. The thing here was if some one could have succes and with my tactic i have couse im not relegated. Thx a lot. Good luck with ur team Milan. :thup:

it may sound funny but if your playing defensive you need to give as many players as you can forward runs! (if your using a DM then you can give the rest of your squad FRs except DCs of course!!) otherwise when your attacking theres no options up front!!

Not necesary. I play a dmc and 2 mc. I think in defensive tactics u have to play in Slow tempo and short passing game. If u play Dmc you have to put him to hold the ball so that he can give a chance for some players to move forward. The only arrows i use are in Fullbacks and put them to run with the ball. My tactic uses one sweeper, 3 centerback, 2 fullback, dmc, 2 mc one striker. Sweeper alway man mark best oponent attaker. And fullbacks only man mark if they are against amr/l. This dont make me an invict winner or a first place team but if u dont have anything it gives u a chance against relegation.

Do you happen to know which formations it was ok against, and which not?
