Yes it was a coincidence that I had just started using global mentality and then ours came up. I simply did it because I couldn't be bothered with RoO, global is a loteasier and has similar effects.

The problem is I have had both success and failiure. I don't know why sometimes it works and other times it doesn't (this is not just with global mentality, but with a general strategy covering all aspects). It's what annoys me and makes me give up too often. If I had a pound for every time I clicked new game...

Hopefully, oh so hopefully, I think SI will do something to help people out tactics wise, otherwise it's going to become tedious. I don't really want Super-tactics back.

The thing I find most annoying about the game is the learning curve (or lack of it for some measure). The game is easy to some and hard to others BUT you can either play the game or you can't. It annoys me how some people say "It's a simulation, so it's going to be hard" yet I feel that it is, and always has been a game. However realistic a game is, it's always supposed to be playable to everyone. There is no learning curve in this game, you can't really learn where you have gone wrong, or where was working, unlike in other games, I meant jesus, even CM07 has something to help you analyze your tactics, but alas not this year. When people whine and whinge about how hard the game is, I think it's unfair to get on their back and say it's easy, becuase it obiviously isn't, would be stupid to say so.

There is also another angle which you have to think about:

Where the **** would half of us be if we didn't have wwfan, rashidi and cleon to help us? A game shouldn't have to rely on the people who play it to make it playable, to help us understand the engine. SI could at least tell us how some stuff works so we can figure out how best to go about tactics, but that is apparent either. All we have thus far is guesswork and hope that RoO or slider apapathy is the way forward.

As I said hopefully SI have taken this one board, and shall implement something next year to help people who aren't tactical wizards. That, or they have totally ignored the 50% of us who feel the game is too hard and are going to make it even harder next year, so that the people who are already bad tacticians just get worse.

Very cool, thanks! I actually haven't played NUFC yet! I haven't played any premiership side. I like starting the career route in the lower divisions. I added you to my buddy list because my goal with my current Darlo game is to work my way up to the Toon :cool:

That is precisely one of my biggest gripes. My friend says he does alright and mamages ok without these forums, and sure, he knows a few things about football, but I'm not entirely sure if I believe him, or perhaps I underestimate him (I wonder if your reading this Dave... ).
