hey guys i just wanted to create a new post which will basically tie all of the basics of tactics together and start by asking several questions...

which is a good tactic to play against a normal 442?
have you found success using arrows or not using them altogether?
what tweaks should u make determined by weather?
what is the deal with showing onto foot?

and also lastly how can i get the best out of gerrard playing a basic 442?

The best counter against the normal ai 442 is an aggressive 442

Against the defensive 442, play a defensive 442 that defends on the wings as this is where the ai coutner attacks

Most people will tell you not to short pass in wet weather but i still use it ok

With the standard liverpool team, in this game Gerrard is best defensively used in CM (DM) with Alonso in front, with either as the playmaker

Most people show wingers on to their weaker foot and also pacey stiker to stop them getting crosses or shots away.

However it commits the defender one way or another so is dangerous against players that can play with both feet. Some teams (most notably Barca) play a left footer on the right (Messi) and a right footer on the left (Ronaldinho) so showing them on to the weaker foot simply pushes them out like a conventional winger and a simple cut inside will mean they get a cross away, so it can be dangerous.

However opposition instructions rarely make a difference, though I would say this one can limit a good winger or striker a bit.
