I plan on using a 442 diamond(changing between narrow and wide) for a game I'm about to start. However, when I've used these formations in the past, my attacking midfielder pretty much never touched the ball and all my players passed the ball back to my defensive midfielder(he wasn't listed as a playmaker). I've tried adding my am as a playmaker and targetman or just a playmaker or targetman, none of these changes seem to give my attacking midfielder more possesion.
So.... any suggestions? I want my attacking midfielder to dictate the tempo of the game(the ones I use have this trait listed) and employ short passing.
