just a quick question

i think that forward runs on and arrows counteract each other and confuse the scenario,, example being lw and rw forward runs often and forward arrow to in line with cf,,, they always end up poast cf,,, any other ideas

From what I have seen in-game I can conclude that:

A forward arrow on a player will instruct him where to be 'positioned' while your team has the ball. Try putting a forward arrow on your full back and you will notice the difference.

A forward run basically means that your player will try to make it in to the box.

Imagine the scenario. Zambrotta and Grosso have a forward arrow set and are each on forward runs. You win the ball at the back and both full backs push up to the tip of the arrow. The ball is spread to Zambrotta who plays a one-two with Pirlo; he continues on and makes it to the bi-line and whips a magic cross to Grosso who heads it in. Grosso never would have got there had he not been on forward runs. He would have stayed in the position denoted by the arrow. So: the arrow states position, and the forward run makes the player run forward from the tip of the arrow. Hope this is crystal.
