I am West Ham, and I am using the 4-3-3 formation.
Well its one lone striker, with two attack mid wingers, with forward arrows each pointing to either side of the lone striker.
Problem is not creating chances, it taking them. Everytime they have like a one on one to beat a keeper, or have a clear chance to score, they players either hit it at the keeper, or hit it over the bar from 8 yards out ( NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT NEXT GAME DEFINITELY).
Wy oh why do they do this? Why cant they be normal and take an easy chance. I recently took out all of my strikers and attacking wingers of the normal team training, and set up a training teaching high on shooting and attacking, but still easy chances are missed.
How do I get them to take chances? If I could score more, I would probably have a good chance of winning the league.
I only conceed 30 goals a season, if I was to score more it wouldnt really matter. I keep losing 1-0 in games I dominate.
Is there any way of stoping me from wanting to punch Ashton in the face multiple times?
Although West Ham are ranked 8th, i'm pretty sure the last patch contained a suppressor of some kind, because i lose about a dozen games a season when i completely dominate for 90 minutes make 20 chances and just dont score!.
Also, in every start i've ever had, Ashton and Tevez always miss at least half a season through injury, however slight the training schedule!.
1. Check their attributes. If their Bravery, Composure, Balance and/or Strength is low they will still miss chances even with a finishing of 20. No matter how good their finishing if they panic or get pushed off the ball when shooting they will miss.
2. Perhaps you are playing with too high a tempo forcing your strikers to rush their chances.
3. No matter what some people tell you, I think there IS an issue with the match engine. Too many chances are ballooned over. I feel that IRL more of these chances would be saved by an onrushing keeper, there would be more miscontrols by the strikers and slightly more goals!
Remember it works both ways. The AI misses some absolute sitters too
I've checked the other help threads, and still they want to act like a gay in front of goal.
I mean, come on, who misses from 8 yards out 3 times a game, nearly every game.
The match engines a load of crap. I'd suggest fixing this before trying to fiddle with 3d graphics. The engine is still quite poor.
Also another pet hate is when you have a player, lets say a winger, whos attacking and cuts into the oppositions box, instead of squaring a ball off to someone in the centre, they take a stupid impossible shot with the gayest angle ever, and misses.
Before anyone 'clever' person says, yes my crossing is on 'often'.
"Rant, rave, rant, rave, complain, rant, rave". Why didn't you just leave all this information in your head where it belongs instead of taking up precious KBs on the server? what a complete waste of time.

Erm, no I will tell people that I feel the game needs improving, and you will shut up, if you have nothing constructive to say.
I will do what I want, and if you dont like it, go away.
No need for abuse lads and arteta whats the point in posting just to critisice(sp) when the OP has came in here asking a legitimate question and made some constructive critisicm(again sp)
@alanricouk
I do agree with you that there is a problem in the match engine where players don't finish 1-on-1's well enough even with good attributes etc.
But as said earlier it could be down to things like poor technique, composure etc. or that your tempo is too fast
Have you tried putting your forwards CF down - I find this helps a lot
Or even bringing their mentality down? I find that when the forwards mentality is too high they tend to be very agressive when shooting and blaze the ball over the bar, I find strikers with a lower mentality seem a lot calmer in 1-on-1 situations and tend to try and pass the ball into the net instead of hitting the person's head in row z

The attributes are fine, ill have a go at changing the tactics, see if they do anything else.
