I am in my 3rd season in the Championship with Palace. In my first two seasons I lost out in the Final on pens! Now the board want promotion, I have a good squad, but I find that my performances are inconsistant. I dont chop and change too much with my formations, and in the first two seasons have played the flat 4-4-2 formation below. But in both seasons, I hit a poor run of form between xmas and marec, which always blew my automatic promotion hopes. This season I have tried both formations with inconsistant success, and I am 5th at the turn of the year, 5 ponts off of top, but the Xmas jinx is striking again! I have a couple of million to spend the window (jan 2009)

Can anyone help, suggest ways to make me more consistant. The shots are based on what i think is my strongest eleven.

how did u get them players with palace ?

I am very shrewd in the transfer market. In my first season I searched the scandinavian market and picked up several cheap players, and by the 3rd season sold them for millions. Also Simon Jordan agrred with my ultimatum for more miney, and gave me an £8m budget last year.

I thought consistancy is a hidden stat. Which mean it will diff with different players. Maybe your players are not consistant performers. Get new players who have performed well regularly, check their history. But your team has a great future.

I hope so! For the 3rd season in a row, after finishing 3rd and missing out by a point (have finished 3rd for 3 seasons) I have failed at the play off stage. Two final defeats on pens, and a semi defeat. Its gotta happen this year!

dont see how that team is possible only in the third season with a championship team

well i got kaka in the AMC position and hes quality there, i have him set to playmaker and have my tempo set fairly low. But you must be doing something wrong if you cant take players like that into the premiership.

Usually the blip after xmas usually means your players are getting tired because there's a lot of games during that time. Maybe consider playing your weaker players in cup competitions so your stronger players get the much needed rest. Because there is no way your are gonna win the cups, just try for promotion and play from there

When I started this career, I gave Simon Jordan 3 ultimatums and he kept giving me money, I gave up asking him afterwards! This squad has been put together with no cheating. i have been playing since CM2, and have NEVER cheated. (dont turn off after bad results etc)

Just annoyed that I consider myself a hald decent player, yet cant get out of the chamionship.

Pay attention to the weather - rainy muddy pitches aren't good for short passing.

Also its important to up your players morale after any blip in form. Ive been following this guide with excellent results

I am still unsure as to whether to go with the flat 4-4-2 with farrows as above, or the 4-4-2 diamond.
