Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Training graphs question

Hi all,
i found this information regarding training from the "FM2007 hints and tips" by Marc Vaughan:

"The graphs represent the current training levels of the player, not the training improvement. If a bar is at the highest point, it means that he has reached his maximum limit in that category. If the bar is at the lowest point, it means that he cannot get any worse from training."

Does this means that after say one season of training and if the "shooting" bar is always at the highest point for a striker, i do not need to train him in shooting anymore since he has reached his maximum limit and he also can't get any worse from training?

And also if i don't train my striker in "defending" at all, his defending attributes like tackling will not decrease right?

So are my interpretations of that paragraph regarding training correct?

They will decrease. (I 've tested it)

As I told you above, it will derease. Whenever you change the training schedule, training starts reshaping your player in the way you 've told it to. Or it tries to, at least.

I don't really understand what Marc is saying above. The way I understand training levels, they just show how much effort has gone into each training area for the past month or something. So if you have Shooting at "intense" for 2 weeks, and right afterwards at "none" for two weeks, then the training level for shooting is going to be about half filled. (there are exceptions to this rule, but usually that's about it)
