Well, I always start a new game of FM with Liverpool and this time has been no different.

I am familiar with the players and I find it is a great way to ease myself into the game.

Conversely after a few years into my first game, I never choose Liverpool again. I think it is simply that I just hate having to sell players ingame that I feel some loyalty too in the real world.

At this stage I simply go for a random championship/league one side.

I also start the game in March the following year (using the Swedish league to get the option) because I feel it is more realistic to replace a manager mid-season. I will almost always go with a relegation struggler.

I started with my favorite team, Corinthians (Brazil) its hard to start with a cheap team with no money for transfers.

I haven't settled yet; but then it always takes me a few months to get into a Football Manager game (I didn't start comfortably playing FM07 until early 2008, after getting it on release day).

Once I have settled with the game however, it'll probably be Arsenal.

On my own single player game i have started a game as i always do with my home team Hereford United.

On my network game i went for Braintree town, just for the name

I started as Man City so I could get used of the game. Into my 4th season now.

Will start a career with Millwall after a few more season so I can make them the best team in the world :cool:

The mighty Sheffield United, because I support them. Promoted in the first season and 5th (!) in the Prem the next. I'm currently about 9th or something after 12 games in 09, and the ungrateful sods are saying I'm underperforming.

I'll probably start again after the patch though. Make sure I get Aaritalo, Piatti and Marin straight away instead of paying over the odds :p
