There has been a bug in CM/FM for as long as I can remember where clubs that have previously been managed by humans don't get a new manager.

They don't buy or sell any players either.

One of the SI guys said in a thread last year that to sort it out would unravel the whole game.

In my last game pre-patch, I was followed up the league by the AI manager (Dave Gorman) who took over at Hyde after I left them, Halifax when I left them and Swansea when I left them. We became good friends, constantly praising each other. We only met once in a competitive game during the save.

So there was no bug there.

Also, Kettering have always been the first club to appoint a manager in the few saves I have played.

Yeah, it doesn't happen every time you leave a club. I've no idea why it happens on some occasions. I might try and hunt down the thread in the bugs forum but it was from quite a while back.

i have that problem. 4 years into mine. there are 20 teams who have had a vacant position for more than a year. (Preston the best known) I've been unemployed since i quit Newport after 1 year in charge destroying all opposition with no cheats in the Conference south. I've only lost 1 game (2-0 Chesterfield)
