In my last 03/04 save, last year, playing in Italy I had a ML and a MR come through the ranks and become regulars at 16 and 15 year of age respectively but I sold both after a couple of seasons as I knew I wouldn't hold onto them at contract renewal and big clubs were offering ridiculous money.

Generally I find if they are good enough to be regulars they think they are too good and leave for a bigger club.

I've only ever had one player who was any good to come through but then i sold him off and he then just became a backup player in the championship, i cant say ive had too much luck with homegrown talent

My top striker at Billericay (since the million pound Conference player ) is a product of the youth team, albeit before I joined the club. After not scoring in his first season in 20 games, he's now in his seventh season and on the verge of his 100th league goal.

There's also a couple of other youth teamers who've made in into the first team squad, as well as a promising centre back I had signed after the first one buggered off to Kilmarnock (where to be fair he's been a very good player).

I've not been at Hearts (my current club) for too long - am into my 3rd season now. During that time, I've only had one player per summer promoted from the youth academy, and this despite having top facilities !

However, at my previous club, Chievo - I did bring through two young Italian strikers who are currently doing very well in Serie A, and also current U21 internationals.

Don't think I'm going to get enough players coming through at Hearts, unless I buy them in as youngsters.

I have 5 homegrown players in my A squad, all Croatia U21 capped, exept a GK (3rd choice).

Of those one is first team regualr (M C), and another one (D RLC) is a quality sub.

And more are coming through the ranks
