don't have exact figures but there has to be 4 players produced by the club in the 7 players of the Nationality of the Team in the 25 players picked by the Team for European Competition.
doesn't seem to be a problem if you don't have that many homegrown players available though, at one point in the UEFA cup I only had 1 player trained by my own club and had no problems.

An AML produced at the AIK academy soon became a star first teamer there. When I moved to the Premiership I took him with me and he was a regular there as well. Eventually one of the bigger sides paid his minimum release fee - about £6.5m I think. He's 26 now and a successful international player. If I get a chance I'll sign him back.

I am a fond developer of homegrown talent and have always been.

What's even more interesting in FM06 is that there are some players who are late 'blossomers' (for lack of a better word).

Of my Imortal crop (2005-2010?) I had 1 DC (now full international at 20yo) and playing in the English Championhip, one DLC (who is the heart and sould of the National side defense and is playing his trade as Arsenal first choice DC and captain) and two ST who turned half decent (for Portuguese First Division standards). There's also a 20 yo ML who is playing his trade in Portuguese 2nd Division and who is turning into a quality player (despite being ***** a mere 2 seasons ago), a 18 yo SW/DMC who is playing for a struggling 2nd Division side (though he's more a rotation player than a first choice) and several other who are at 2nd Division B clubs.

My Swansea spell was too short to really develop any youth, but they have a 17 yo MC who looks destined to National Side Glory and a 16 yo AM/F C who could be something as well. Several others sprouted, though I don't know if there might be any late 'blossomers' in that group.

As for my new club... Well, it's too early, but I've already promoted a 17 yo DR (backup), two twin 19 yo DCs (same dob, same birth city, same surname) as rotation, a 19yo AM/F RC (first choice) and a 17 yo ML (first choice).

Oh... and I had to register 4 homegrown players for the one and only UEFA round I've ever played for FM2006.

In my 9th season, 7th at Stockport, and got a youth academy about 4 years ago. Since making the Prem, the number of youths its producing is amazing; this season alone I got about 20. Most of them are rubbish, though. I do have two promising wingers from the ranks who have gotten spot duty due to injuries and who I look to be regulars, and I've played a Nigerian left back who appeared in my academy as well. None regulars yet, but I think I ought to have 3-5 in the next few seasons.

in one of my scottish games the whole first team squad (24 players) were youths. also had made £25,000,000 from selling former academy members. this was with East Stirling who are now part of the quintette (East Stirling, hearts, Hibs, Gretna, Rangers) at the top of the scottish premiership (celtic struggling in Div2)

I had a great kid in Portupoofland in 03/04 who came throught the ranks in D2B and ended up SupaLiga player of the year eventually. He had our club listed as his favourite and I played him every game. He never wanted to leave
