Please don't flame a first time poster as I realise PTFC are not strictly lower league but having seen the mentality of some of the posts in General Questions I hope to get some serious feedback here...
I started a game with Partick in Scottish Div 2 and got promoted via the playoffs in season 1, all the time haemorraging money left right and centre despite being well under salary budget etc. Season 2 finished a respectable 5th using a bunch of free transfers and youngsters and a couple of ex Celtic reserves to add a touch of class. At the end of the season I got rid of the non performers, went to my shortlists to find some players crazy enough to want to play for £300 p/w when suddenly a New Board arrives, wipes the slate clean and gives me £5million to spend along with a wage structure of up to 7k for a key player...I can't get my head round this...not that I'm not delighted just that my carefully crafted shorlists are shot to pieces. Should I resign and find a club that can better suit my miserly means or spend my money like a lottery winner???

New Board Takes Control at Partick Thistle Post #2
I wish it was real life as well...however at least I have the opportunity to do what Dick Campbell will never be able to do - splash out on some transfer fees!
NOw then - set my distinctly average scouts off to find some geniuses on the field!

New Board Takes Control at Partick Thistle Post #6
I needn't have worried about my new found wealth - despite offering huge contracts to players no-one wants to play for me...the normal excuse being "unsure if a move to Scotland would be good for his career" or even worse "has no intention of moving to Partick"...
It'd be good if you could explain your vision of where you want to take a club, or maybe you can and I haven't found it yet. Then again - losing to Airdrie in the Challenge Cup might have dented my aspirations for Champions LEague football at Firhill
