Just had the first bit of interferance from my club chairman, in my long-running LLM game - I'm managing Milan now.

Bloody Burlisconi has gone and splashed out £24million on a french DMC from Juventus, who isn't a bad player at all from his stats. However, I had not scouted him, or noticed him in the game, as yet.

Obviously, I can't put the kid up for sale, or my arse would be on the line. Just wondered what the LLM ethics say on something like this ?

Personally I'd probably resign, I like to build my own team.

The thing is that in real life clubs like Milan sometimes have interfering chairman who will sign players without the managers say-so. As such I don't believe it's against LLM ethics to use this guy.

If the player is good enough for the team, play him. If not, let him, uh, learn how your team play by sitting on the bench and watching every match.

I wouldn't worry about him not being scouted. We all know what the Italian chairmen are like - he's probably a politician's son and your chairman was doing him a favour.

I'd think it'll happen at the likes of AC Milan or Real Madrid, where the club president's are known for bringing in their own players - nevermind what the manager/coach wants !

I'm told that if your board changes (takeover after bankruptcy) it can also happen.

That being said, I have never experienced that, though my Barakaldo chairman made it quite clear that I should bring stars* in or he would take matters into his own hands. I duly delivered.

*Stars as in players whose profile is big enough for a crappy team as Barakaldo was in my save after my mismanagement that is

I think if the Milan or Madrid chairman interferes, it doesn't make a difference if the guy was scouted or not.

My mate (who I can't convert to the way of LLM, and hence is a heathen) is a Chelsea fan and when he didn't bring anyone in during the window, Abramovich tried to bring in bucktoothed diving Portuguese winger from Manure. Said winger said he wasn't interested.
