| I think it's useful to draw the distinction between using the same formation all the time and adapting to suit the teams/situations you face.
For example, I used to keep more or less the same formation until I realised how badly I was losing in certain circumstances (ie. some teams using Formation of Doom) at which point it only seemed reasonable to come up with a way to counter it. But I still keep the same formation most of the time.

I refuse to think I'm the only LLaMa that adapts his tactics to get the best out of the players he has. I must have as many variations for my tactics as strikers in my team and just swap them depending on who I am playing upfront or how I want my team to play.
Same said depending on how I want my defensive setup to work.

Tweaking my tactics is valid, surely. It's a standard tactic, nothing special, just tweaked a little to get the best from what i've got, which in most areas isn't much.
The basic formations are weak to say the least.
I use pretty much the same tactics for each game, except if i'm losing and think i can nick a draw, in which case i will send my wingers forward and tell the team to go all out attack, which is what some managers do in the Football League.

| You're not alone. I am also a tactic tweaker with several variations on a theme based around who is in the lineup.

Ryn,
There's difference between most LLaMas and those frequenting the T&T forums. The knowledge of which tactics excel and which are carp is an advantage that wouldn't exist in the "realism" approach of LLM. Quote:

| This is the way a LLaMa would develop tactics. Get beaten down, then figure out a way to counter it... on their own. No help. It's not that LLaMas don't use tactics, it's that we have zero knowledge of other people's tactics.
But hey, what's done is done. You can't lobotomize yourself to forget the T&T stuff. Converting to LLaMaism is a good step. Just try to stay away from that stuff in the future. ;-)

Oh, and people claiming that LLaMa tactics are default ones clairly haven't seen Devon's approaches to the tactical side of things. Isn't it Clanners? |

Looks like I’m wrong then. Obviously as we can’t have tactical discussion in here I have NFI what other Llamas do in the privacy of their own bedrooms.

I haven't got the slightest interest to know what other LLaMas do in their bedrooms, Hogie. Honest.
You and your perverted mind :p
Oh and in past post I meant to type 'clearly' and not clairly, of xure. :o

I should probably shut up though. Nobby accused me of getting a bit wasteful with my chalk on the old tactics board myself |

Well, it certainly had more arrows than the American Natives' quivers in all the Western movies I've seen |
