It's this kind of update thread that keeps me reading the LLaMas forum. Well played.

Thanks
Happy, yeah it's a bit frustrating but our attendances haven't been brilliant this season. For example, 1084 people bothered to turn up to our game against Birmingham city this year
A couple of minor things -
After a mere 13 years at Yeading, I've been offered some jobs, at Spanish outfit Ourense and closer to home, with Bristol Rovers. Rejected both because neither are that much bigger than Yeading at the moment. Only a club with a lot more potential is going to tempt me away at present.
My Northern Ireland U-21 striker had been on loan at league 2 Millwall for most of the season, he attracted a lot of interest so I decided to let him go in January because while he's good, he doesn't really fit in with the way we play. 4 Championship and Scottish clubs are prepared to meet my valuation and make bids, but somehow Bolton manage to engineer a bosman move for him in the summer, despite him being 20 and me offering him a double your money deal, meaning we missed out on nearly £1m, however I'm not one to hold grudges.
I hope he breaks his leg and that they get relegated.

TC - I take it you're still having the stadium capacity problem? If so, then KUTVGW! Keep going and I'm sure you'll get that big club move you're looking for

After last years spending spree our wage budget is cut to 50k/week and we are forced to tighten our belts, cutting a bit of dead woods with only a few freebies coming in. The board were hoping for a mid table finish, I think we can manage top half. We make a good start, but then an appalling September and October see us scrapping around near the bottom. A few choice words to the media causes some players to buck their ideas up and from the 31st of October we go on a 15 game unbeaten run in the league which sees us shoot up the table, and despite an average showing in the cups we are about where we want to be by Christmas.
January sees the sale of our local boy England U-21 striker to Championship relegation favourites Swansea for £2m, which eases the financial pressure, allowing us to bring a couple of players in for modest fees. I take great pleasure in knocking QPR out of the FA cup as we reach the 5th round for the third year running, before being humbled by Chelsea 0-3 at the Warren. Hartlepool bring an end to our record unbeaten run, leaving us in and around the playoff places, giving our usual February slump a miss this year. Aston Villa and Birmingham looked certain to get 1st & 2nd, leaving the playoffs to fight for, we are playing some nice football and win our last 5 games to secure 5th place.
After two very solid performances to see off Doncaster 2-0 & 0-1 in the semis, we faced a strong Plymouth side in the final. Our performance on this day was just a joy to watch, exactly how I've been trying to get Yeading to play for the last 13 years! We were solid at back and incisive going forward, playing them off the park in our 3-1 triumph. The star of the season was undoubtedly my loyal Scottish striker who's been with us since our Conference South days, always giving 100% and helping himself to 17 goals in 35 appearances.
League 1: 5th - 81pts (won 3-1 against Plymouth in playoff final)
LDV Vans: 3rd R (lost 5-4 on pens to Forest Green, 2-2AET)
League Cup: 2nd R (lost 2-0 to Man City)
FA Cup: 5th R (lost 0-3 to Chelsea)
Players in: 6 - 85k
Players out: 5 - 2.1m
Players released: 6

Mid-season update
Championship we're having a laugh! An Irish midfielder we sold to Everton secures a big money move to Manchester United, earning us a cool £2 million via a sell on clause. This windfall allows us to add some real quality to our line up in time for the big kick off. We start reasonably well and look as if we can give anyone in this league a game, I take particular pleasure in our 4-0 tonking of league one winners Aston Villa.
Things are going great we're in the top half, occasionally breaking into the playoff places, until out of the blue a job offer arrives from C.P. Ejido S.A.D., in the Spanish second division, I accept it, pack my bags and fly off to sunny Granada.
Leaving Yeading after over 13 years in charge was hard to do, especially as we were doing so well. However, with our ground capacity stuck at 3500 forever, we lose over 200k a month, which means that I have to sell £2m worth of players, and put in a good showing in the cups every single year, just to fund a squad that can keep us in the Championship. Despite all the success most of my thoughts seemed directed towards saving money and who I can offload in the new year to fund next season.
So I thought it was time to leave and look for fresh challenges. |

Nooooooo...how could you bail on Yeading? You never know...they might have built you a completely new stadium!!! Still, good luck with C.P. Ejido S.A.D. I await your progress...
P.S. You'd better change your location!
