Thanks guys 2009/2010
The board and fans once again want a respectable position in the league, with a bit of luck we can do better. Some of our backroom staff move on to other clubs, which gives me the chance to bring in some good quality replacements. Our remaining star striker, after knocking in 30 goals last term, moves on the league one Gillingham for 130k, with a left back and a striker (loan) coming the other way. After a solid start we lose our right back and first choice centre halves through injury, but the kids who come in impress and we maintain our good run, leading at Christmas. The cups sucked arse, but luckily we seemed to reserve our worst performances for the footballing giants of Osset Town and Dunstable. We no longer posses a 20-30 goals/season striker but with 6 or 7 people chipping in we do enough to win games, and by February we are eyeing automatic promotion. Braintree however have other ideas and go on a 17 game unbeaten run, including a 1-1 at ours where we missed a penalty , to run away with the title. We head into the playoffs for the 4th year on trot, we see off welling in the semis before coming face to face with Gravesend who beat us in this fixture two years ago. We take an early lead and then ship two of the softest goals you will ever see before half-time, I decided to sub our keeper at the break, we were all over them second half and got our reward, our latest loanee bagging two excellent goals and our sub keeper making an amazing save on 88 minutes to win the game and (finally!) clinch promotion to the Conference.

FA Cup: 2nd QR
FA Trophy: 3rd QR

| Yes beating Braintree in the final. They've been a bit of a yo-yo club so far.

The board and fans are less than optimistic and expect a brave battle against relegation, some of our staff get poached and we sign some slightly inferior replacements. I only made a few signings including our old keeper, whose bench warming days at Hereford hadn't done much his game, a free scoring loanee from last term and a Wales U-21 striker who certainly knows where the goal is but is rather injury prone, because I've always had a feeling that this Yeading team possessed enough quality to hold its own in the Conference. How wrong I was, we looked ok going forward but our defence was a shambles, we just had nothing when playing most teams in this division. We failed to take a single point away from home for 3 months (sept-dec) and by Christmas were looking like strong candidates for relegation, the only saving grace was that there were 3 teams who were somehow worse than us. The less said about the cups the better. January couldn't come soon enough and I went on something of a spending spree, taking us 1.5k over our wage budget, bringing in several players including, a decent midfielder, a crap winger and an amazing centre half. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say he saved our season, his presence lifted the whole team and we were finally able to convert our goal scoring ability into points, going on a seven game unbeaten run in January, I even pick up the manager of the month gong. By March we're pretty much safe so the board thanks me by offering me a new deal on 1/3 of my current wages, ****s. We finish with a 5 match unbeaten run in 17th.
Conference National: 17th - 57pts

Yar, I'm rather lucky with play-offs, I'd hate to be stuck in the conference south for 4 years!
KUTGW though.
