Default Wild Swings In Results?

I've got my first FM2006 game going, and perhaps it's just the club I'm managing, but there seem to be wild swings in the sort of results we get. Several times I've gone from running out 5-0 winners to being thrashed by a similar score in the very next match. My team will lose three straight games and then suddenly destroy a team out of nowhere. This happens despite using the same tactics and players. There is no rhyme or reason to the results.

This seems a bit unrealistic to me because of the sheer number of goals scored. I can understand losing 2-1, 3-2, and then turning around and winning 4-0 on a good day, but it seems a stretch to think that a team could have show such unbelievalbe inconsistency and dramatically different results from week to week. Not surprisingly, there have been very few draws, and most games are either a a blowout for my club or a complete trouncing at the hands of the opposition.

Has anyone else noticed anything similar in your saved games?

Yeah, I've noticed that Greg. It's especially apparent when you play the same team three times in two weeks (Cup tie, replay and in the League).

You draw the cup tie, win the replay (usually away) by a monster score, then lose in the League (normally by the oppo scoring in the 2nd minute then holding out for the win).

I've experienced similar things with the wins over ManUre preceding draws and losses for the next 4 games.

In my experience, it has to do with them playing too well in the match they win and then getting complacent in the next match.

As if they didn't show up until you give them a b0ll0cking at half time.

I've had that in the last couple of matches. A 6-1 win followed by a 5-3 and a 6-3 defeat.

The two defeats were against Dinamo Kiev and Shakhtar Donetsk thogh.

I've noticed a weird thing in my save where I'll be unbeatable at home for half a dozen games, but can't win away. Then for a brief time I win everything home and away. Then it swings the other way: I can win away but not at home. Then I go through a stage of not winning anywhere, then the cycle starts again...

Happened for a couple of seasons now.

Yes I am getting wild changes in results too.

For me last season consisted of the following.

Winning away, losing at home (Change home tactics)

Losing away, winning at home (Change away tactics)

Losing both home and away. (Change Both Tactics)

12 game winning streak, home and away (Do not change either tactic)

10 game losing streak, home and away, culminating with the last game of the season; losing 5-0 with one 3 rating , five 4 ratings and rest 5 ratings. I was not a happy manager.
