The new users observation is a correct one, Ian. They act like ex-smokers (as nobody is so in your face about smoking as ex-smokers). To be fair I suppose a lot of us went through that stage until we settled down.

This forum has a very different feel to the Hut or CMC.

It always seems very antagonistic to me.

But that's because at the Hut (and at CMC, although I'm more of a lurker there, but the answer's still true) we kinda know each other and there isn't the level of suspicion you get here. Every time a newbie posts, there's a rush to check their posting history to see if they're a GPG or T&T whore. There are users being flamed, two days after they've posted, by indignant newbies who probably still don't get LLM themselves.

Maybe some of the more experienced LLaMas should do more to keep the newer ones a bit more on a leash, until they calm down.

Or we could just cut their balls off. Works for dogs.
