Is even Harrogate likely to take on a 15y/o GCSE student as manager? ...or a Paramedic? ...or an IT Guru?

Nah, I reckon you have to assume at least a semi-pro footballer would get any of those jobs, so to take on a minor Country like Wales when no-previous-experience guys get Holland and Germany isn't all that bad.

Maybe not LLM, but the game did offer the job.

It won't in v6.0.3, btw

I know Wales are a small nation, akin to Togo on the football scale but I think it's a touch unrealistic for a manager who has achieved nothing in the ECN to become there manager.

/goes to hide from Michal!
/me looks for ways to sabotage Chris' team in the online game.

In a way, I suppose. I'm getting sick of the constant flaming in here, to be honest. Fair enough when guys are flouting the rules, but when the game offers a job?

With all the flaming it's like moderating a barbeque

I'm not too sure if you're a bit touchy in this case, Ian. I can't speak for Stan, but my "why didn't you refuse" comment was only aimed at that "I know, it's totally unrealistic" saying.

If you feel, something isn't realistic, you don't have to accept the job. If you feel, you have deserved it, then pick it by all means.

Also, I agree with the part where you state that it's not us who are managers in the game, but people who had former experience in football (as players for example). That's why I never play as myself, but pick some random manager name, and the nationality of the league I'm in. I also choose some favourite team - which then is the one, that was my "home" prior to my management career.

It's not just this case, Ollie. LLM's losing a bit of the fun aspect it always had. There's no "friendly banter" now when guys transgress, it's full-frontal assault. You generally find it's the newer guys who do it. Granted there are times when I, and the likes of Liam, feel we have to unleash the legendary LLaMa-venom, but every thread you see is either accusing or flaming.

...or bloody updates!!!

I don't want to see LLM going under, but it's teetering at the moment.

I think it has to do with the Hut, Ian. The (we) regulars are spending lots of time there. Interesting discussions and whatever are put there (if any), and even don't make it here. We're a small community only, and spreading it on two places is hard.

That doesn't mean I'm against the hut. I love the hut. It's just sad and I have no idea how to change it.

I don't know...CMC was formed at the same time as LLM, from the remnants of the old CrapManagerCity, and both flourished.

That's, what, about 7 years ago?

I think there's definitely room for more Fora that we have at present.

We'll see what happens though.

I don't want to dish out cards and bans, warnings are bad enough, none of us do, but maybe that's going to be necessary, perish the thought
