Do you want to manage in Serie A? Personally, if my machine might struggle, I tend not to load leagues I'm not hoping to manage in. There's only one way for you to find out if the speed is OK though...

At the risk of tipping, I'll mention that my tactical philosphy is to think how I like to see my team play and then try and pick the best options in the game that might do that. Then I see how crap it is and tweak stuff to try and make it less crap. I tend to have unorthodox settings, but most of my players ultimately end up somewhere near where I want them at appropriate times.

Finally - it's all about the journey, not the destination. Enjoy :thup:

Donny, it is only fair to warn you that, if played in the true LLM spirit, there is a very good chance that you will lose sleep over finding a tactic that suits you and your team. LLM is lots of fun, I think you'll enjoy it. Just remember that it is not all about winning! Something we all now only too well

I'll have to chant that to myself. Whenever I have started a LL game before (not played properly obviously!) I have always expected to get promoted first season and have a cup run etc so my worry is that even a respectbale mid-table finish won't be good enough for my over-inflated ambitions!

So.. what's the meaning of the word poof anyway? </BLOCKQUOTE>
Poof = a guy from England.
Poofland = England
Jockland = Scotland
Portupoofland = Portugal </BLOCKQUOTE>

Corrected your post.

Speak for yourself. It IS about winning. None of us try to lose.

There's a difference between trying to win and it being "all about winning".

LLM it's a philosophy i think.

You interact very better with the game if you folow this rules, the most important part of it, i think, is that you fell yourself inside the context of your team...

You scout player that are colser to your reality and you start to knowing the weapons of the rival clubs, the scouts will also put you inside contract negotiation of the players and a lot of other aspects.

You can see clearly how the AI is very well constructed by SI and you extract the reality in a way you cant if you use editors and sh**t.

In the end.. all of this will make winning to be a realy reward for your efforts, what is the real meaning of all of this...

Nothing to do with loosing

Yeah.. you can start to cry of emoctio now poofs :cool:

Well as it's too early for an official update I just though I'd post my first 5 months...

Started with Hucknall (for no reason whatsoever). All English divisions + Serie A & La Liga on a large database.

Unspectacular pre-season left me unsure of the task ahead. Fortunately my one and only scout was earning his £20 per week and threw me a few good leads and as I had a transfer kitty of 5k and was 1k p/w under my wage limit I was able to sign 2 decent players. I was also able to offload 2 high earners (and get 1k for one of them).

I was also fortunate to have a very good "grey" goalkeeper whom I signed (hope that's OK in LLM?). As most of my players are aged 17-22 I also invested in a new coach using the theory that if I can make them better it reduces the need for future transfers. I have also "promoted" 3 players to be full time as they were on what I would consider to be full time wages.

I came up with four tactics depending upon who & where we were playing, but I'm not sure I have the mix right yet of when to use them.

So I'm certainly enjoying it and as December begins I sit 3rd but it's too tight to read much yet - one defeat and I could slip to 9th!

Sold a couple of reserves and have a transfer kitty of 9k but as my overall balance is 26k in the red (despite being comfortably under my budget) I am loathed to spend it especially while I am still finding my feet.

Thanks again for all the help and I won't post another update till at least the end of the season.

3 seasons. You won't post an update until you've completed 3 seasons.
