...to start a season a month or 3 before the early-season friendlies. I aint planning on hacking or anything. I can just pick Russian or NI leagues, who start in February and April respectively. I want to do this because each time I start a new game, whatever team I pick/get from Frank is crammed with toddlers, idiots and generally bad players, most of them bought in the summer by the previous idiot manager. I always end up selling them all and getting "Player XXX feels he might have made the wrong decision joining the club".
Can't see much problem with this myself. Managers take over clubs in the late season so the only thing I can see that could be said to be wrong is that you're attempting to gain an unfair advantage.

It'd just make the game more fun for me. You mean an unfair advantage against other managers of the same team? Maybe... if it was a challenge, for example.
Nah. What I mean is that the game starts on a specific date for a specific Nation. If you start as another Nation, knowing that you intend to play with another Nation, then a zealot may say you're trying to gain an advantage that isn't usually there.
Start in Scotland, for example, and you probably need to play a friendly on the day you start. Start in Ukraine, play in Scotland you have several months to get your team ready before you play your first friendly.

Okay, but in real life there isnt some specific "all managers switch starting from today" date anyway.
After all the goal of LLM is to play the game as realistically as possible.
Actually, Ian, I'm not sure you can claim it would give him an advantage.
All the AI managers have their own shortlists at the start of the game (I'm guessing here, but it seems reasonable), so while Jurjev here is clearing the deadwood and sending his scouts out, the AI are probably using the same time to buy the players they've already 'scouted'.
In a way, you could claim it's actually making it harder for him, since he'll probably only be able to get rid of the more useless members of his squad while the other teams will be able to add better players to theirs.

You know Jurjev, you don't need to start the game winning everything! The first season will me more a adaptation to the game database and it's not so bad to start a little late...
By the way, you don't have to feel pain for the numbers(players) you are making unhappy at all... If your intention is promotion, in a brief future you will not even remember the existance of that plurk!
