Tired of Auxerre's talent and wealth I resumed my Workington save yesterday (just to stay in touch with what the grass roots feel).

Not to speak about the odd 4 or 5 conceeded because of his 'going mushroom hunting' (as we say here) or the 6 own goals from backpasses and bad clearances

Yet, despite all this, it feels great to be back in the Conference Regionals with a team of no-hopers and never-wills

I'm in the second season of a Workington save (since my Leigh save was lost to the great LLaMa in the sky, one of the pitfalls of not believing in backing up saves).

I like it.

I hope the scout is earning his wages in your save, Ian.

I might as well be scoutless for all he does (7 players recommended in 6 months and 5 in positions we had enough decent cover)

I've used players "out of position", and my Scottish Scout (who I always sign...Scottish, that is) has found some useable Scots on frees.

It's enjoyable and realistic, though. I know in Scotland that you have defenders playing up front, full backs playing on the wing, central midfielders playing in defence or upfront, in fact you don't have positions, per se, you play for the team.

This is well known as "lack of tactical skill", Ian, and widely regarded as one of the reasons for the lack of Scottish success on World level.
