Probably been done (Or at least mentioned) but do you have the Beta Patch Installed? Some SecurRom errors have been fixed via the Patch.

Obvious I Know, Not trying to call you stupid, but it was worth a mention Regardless.

I believe that SecuRom's exe will revert your game to version 8.0.0 though, if you've patched.

I was able to reinstall the 8.0.1 patch by using one of those third party SecuRom fixing utilities that i'm sure we are not allowed to discuss here!

thanks for this chas - i tried extracting to the Fm2008 folder - but when clicking it I still get the same error!! it sounds as though my dvd-rom drive is running when I click it too - doesnt a crack mean it runs from the hard drive?

segers - if you download the beta patch, or the full patch when available, you should not have this problem.

I've heard of a few issues regarding the tech support at Securom - if you'd like to send me an email detailing all the issues, I'll be happy to pass them onto senior members of staff over there so that it can be escalated at their end.

Please note that Securom are not connected to us or Sega - we used their technology this year for copy protection having moved from Safedisc who we used last year and are aware that some customers have had issues with both. We have already reviewed how we are going to handle copy protection, hence the beta patch & full patch (when released) should work fine for you.

Does the patch not require you to already have the game installed?

Segers, it could simply be a problem with your CD rom drivers. I had a similar issue with securom and my laptop a few years ago.

The Beta Patch worked!!!!

I didnt even know it was out there!! And what really pi$$es me off now is the fact that for the last 2 weeks SecuRom have been ignoring my emails (and I know they read them because I got read receipts) when they could have just suggested this to me??

Thanks for the offer of help miles but looks like it wont be needed after all, but I would like to say that Wolfgang Hofman at secuRom has ignored my last 3 emails when all i wanted was some communication.
