Well, they do. And i'd say that the pressure of the third goal plays a part.

Not sure whether SI have modelled this 3rd goal stress factor in or not. Wouldn't surprise me if it was there in some form.

It's NOT difficult to get a hattrick... maybe the player sucks, maybe you are playing teams like Chelsea with your downloaded super-tactic and get mad because you only win 4-0 I don't know, there's no pleasing some people

It IS difficult to get a hattrick you moron, it's some code implemeneted the same way as to stop you winning 30 nil when your players are all 9's and 10's on those rare occasions.

Pressure perhaps? A player can be worth a fortune but still bottle it when it comes to hattricks...

You are missing the point, my point is that the game deliberately misses easy shots so the player doesn't get a hattrick. If the game doesn't want to give a hattrick then don't give players easy shots to miss. </BLOCKQUOTE>

How can it? If that was true no-one would ever see a hat-trick. I've had a couple of players get hat-tricks in Fm08 so it's not possible that the game thinks 'oh, he's got two goals, we will make him miss the rest'. It doesn't work like that.

And THAT chipped penalty by Crouch was also part of SI's nefarious "let's make players miss really easy chances to stop them scoring hattricks" coding.

There is certainly a correlation between a strikers shooting performance and him needing one goal for his hattrick. They seem to get a little nervous and reckless.

I have found, although it is probably just fluke, that toning the creative freedom down a tad for such a player helps.

I too get hacked off when the commentary says a player has missed a sitter, especially when there is several in one game, but do we not see this in real life as well???

How many times have you shouted at the screen when watching a game on tv as another chance goes begging???

At the end of the day, the match is a glorified number crunching exercise. Would we all be complaining about the lack of realism if everygame ended 9-9 because no one ever misses?....

As for hat-tricks in fm08 demo and the full game.... Shevchenko is the hat-trick king for me. He just cannot stop scoring. At the start of December in my first season, he has 3 hat-tricks already to his name.

Is it unrealistic for a player to really score 5/6 hat-tricks in season? Romario once did during his days at Barcelona.
