I've only ever had one. It didn't say Wonderkid on his profile, but he went on to be one of Englands best players and was amazing for my Forest team. When I sold him to Chelsea I used the funds to snap up some cracking 16 and 17 year olds.

I personally cant see how this is such a problem. people are complaining because thier youth teams aren't churning out future worls class players? name a team irl that does that through local boys? erm....none!

I have a different problem, i bought this amazing youngster with 192 PA (yes i used FMM to check, but i dont consider it cheating becaues he was in my feeder club and technically they should've told me about him!). But his stats were quite crap, and despite my amazing facilities and careful nurturing, he never really improved alot and now he's almost 20. I wonder if he will ever reach his potential, or maybe he could be a late bloomer?

I managed Arsenal in 07 for about 8 years, from 2017 to 2025, and never even produced a decent substitute in my top-of-the-line youth system. I wonder if there's something else I should have been doing?

you know what i do,
if you are managing a big club, when new batch of youngsters are regenerated. scout EVERY CLUB in major league, some of these awesome players will want to join your club, for a small compensation is well worth it.
also when you get these youngsters, you need to treat them right. like give them right tutors, you need good facilities, coaches 7 stars etc. i seem to be able to produce few wonderkids every 2-3 seasons, loan them out when they 17 or 18, works wonders but sometimes it doesnt work out which is why is worth buying as many as possible ;-p

That's the cheap Arse way. I play as United and I like to make it as realistic as possible, try to develop my own talents, if it doesn't work out, wait for other clubs to develop theirs, then when they're 20-21 established youngsters, I splash out 20-30m to snag them...

| Hey! There is nothing wrong with handling you economy! I too like to buy young and develop talent, more fun that way. I have around 4-5 own talents in my 1st team on 07, and then there are a few that were developed at the club that I bought young. Every now and then I did splash some money on some superstar when I truly needed and wanted one. Think Richards was my first big buy in the 2nd season, but he was a rock in defence for a long time so, worth the money. |

As Marine manager in FM07 I have got them to the Premiership and won it eventually (not a boast). It seems that reputation is the key figure in the quality of the youths promoted to your team.
My most recent batch (5th Prem Season: 1 Title and 1 Runner Up) has some potentially decent players. 90% of the England team have come from 3 teams youth system which is not, IMO, realistic.
