As Liverpool, I've just rejected a bid from Arsenal for Jeremy Menez, because he's one of my better players, I'm very short on wingers and I don't want to sell to a title rival. He didn't ask to be allowed to speak to Arsenal, so I thought nothing of flat out rejecting the rather low bid.
Now he is unhappy because I won't let him move. This happens far too much to me, and what usually happens is I have to sell them anyway because they refuse to extend contracts and I'd otherwise loose them to free transfers. I've lost Xabi Alonso, Agger, Insua and Riise due to them becoming unhappy because I don't want them to leave.
(I've usually try to avoid this by asking for stupidly high transfer fees, but even this can upset them in FM2008).
I've had enough. I'm not willing to loose any more players. How do I go about making this guy happy again? We win trophys, he's a regular starter, I praise him for playing well, all the things that 'should' make him happy, but never seem to. How can I get back on his good side?
