I've only had 08 since christmas day and I'm completely and utterly frustrated with it. I'm extremely close to giving up and going back to 07 or 06. A few things -

1) I have the best team in the league and I'm 4th from bottom, no formation will work, I've pretty much tried them all.
2) Why don't my players close down the opposition? They do it to me but my players just keep standing off them even though I have closing down in my tactics.
3) My players can't pass for s**t, they can't pass the ball 5 yards?
4) My team seem to completely ignore my tactics, I ask them to play it on the ground down the wings and all they do is go straight through the middle.
5) The opposition shot to goal ratio is ridiculous compared to mine? Is that a bug or is the game just supposed to be this difficult?
6) Free kicks - Does anybody concede a truck load of goals to free kicks?

try and get a couple of signings in with high creativity... just an idea to spice things up slightly. Worth a shot


number 3 ) What setting have you got passing to? short or direct?

4) yeah they tend to do that. annoying

5) bug. happens frequently to me

6) have you got tackling set to anything apart from hard?

Have you downloaded the patch? the closing down bug is on the unpatched version, the patch sorted this out.
