Being a relative newbie to the game (I dabbled with an old championship manager) I wanted to liven it up a bit by having some nice purty backgrounds to look at.
I was totally overwhelmed at first, with all this talk of caches and things, but eventually I worked out how to download graphics and put them in.
So far so good, but I wanted to create some A-League backgrounds and face-packs, seeing as though we are neglected by the rest of the football world so I read Gillsman's 'Guide to Making Facepacks' (cheers mate, great help for a newbie), and worked out how to put graphics into the game.
Then I found an image to test (was going to start with A-League background).
Downloaded a free photoshop program to trial.
Worked out how to use said Photoshop program.
Edited image.
Looked up fm07 id code and created xml doc.
Loaded game and my image is there...
... but it is on the top row of the screen, rather than being used as the main backround.
Does anyone know what I have done wrong?
I used the id number on the top row of the screen, because that was the only one I could see.
Do I just need another id for the main section of the screen? If so, how do I get it?
Also, the image I used covered the drop-down menus at the top (manager, world, preferences etc). I could still click on them, but couldn't see them. If I did want to load in graphics to that top section, how do I avoid covering the menus?

ok, but that's another test for me to work out how!
Above your Insert/Delete/Home/End, etc buttons you should see a button called "Print Scrn/SysRq" or similar. If you press that button it takes a screenshot. Then open up paint or something and press paste (edit menu) to paste the image. Save it to your desktop.
Then go to www.imageshack.us use the browse button to select your picture, press host it and hey presto you've uploaded your screenshot!
Then give us a link to the screenie and we'll try to help you.
Cheers Gillsman, I worked it out anyway. Searched on here for how to post screenshots, then went to imageshack and sorted it.
I like trying to work things out for myself first. I am learning A LOT and I haven't even started playing the game preoperly yet!! I am enjoying this.
That's why my first post I said I was frustrated. I spent ages trying to work it out before I posted here.
Anyway, hopefully this link will work. There was another thing on the imageshack site that said thumbnail for forums, so I'm gonna post that too. Not sure what it will do.
...and now I've mixed up which is which . Here's both.

Oops, when I said I worked it out, I meant I worked out how to post screenshots!!
Still need help for the background issue!
OK. I've not seen that before, it's a little weird. Can I confirm, you wanted to see the background image behind the league table right? Could you post the relevant line from the config file please? There might be an error with the XML line.

Sorry dude, I'm completely stumped, you seem to have everything correct. Unless you have the default background set up to show up on the A-League (but even then you shouldn't get the split result there).
