Right what it is, I have had the files to change all the competition names so that they are the proper names, and everything worked fine, but as soon as i installed the patch, it started asking me when I start a new game which database I would like to use, so obviously, i chose the patched, updated database, but then once the game loads the competition names have gone back to being "EURO Cup" an so on, just wondered does anyone know how I can fix this problem?

You'll need to add that same file in the appropriate folder in the new database folder. I'll leave it down to you to figure out where it is.,
