Yeah youve got no chance of signing a Maradona or Van Basten, but I did just sign David Seaman for 3mill
I think its quite realistic because English teams were way behind financialy back then.

I admit that there's very little funds availabe for buying players (and attracting great foreign players of that time is virtually impossible!), as the player values are on level with the 2005 market, while the clubs' finances have been drastically lowered. This was partially due to a wish that managers would have to stick with their "mediocre" squads and search for new players in the lower, English divisions instead of buying foreign players.

However, in a few seasons every club will obtain enough money to have a greater choice in the transfer market, as the clubs don't spend much on wages (smaller squads with fewer first team players than today) and competition money start to flow in.

dweller I've got to say thats some amazing work.
I was speaking to friend at work about 80's footy and said i wish someone did a patch with it.

Can't wait to play a good few seasons on it.

Great work thanks for ruining another few weeks of my life on fm2006!

I found one error. Romario did not play at Barca in the year of 1989, he moved ther in 1992 or 93.

Not an error, I'm afraid. On one of the screenshots Romario is indeed playing for Barcelona, that's right, but that must be because Cruyff figured out Romario would be a great signing for his club during the game. When the game starts in July "1989", Romario is still at PSV, along with Hubertus van Aerle who on the same screen shot is lined up for Barcelona's opponent, 1 FC Köln.

ive added a few players myself such as edgar davids, yari litmanen, marc overmars.

guess who i chose? (obv going against your advice). Obv. most of the dutch teams contain modern players but my goal is european domination by 1995.

That would be Ajax, wouldn't it? Ajax was actually one of the foreign clubs I put some effort into when making the db, though you will of course soon explore that the players' attributes are random. I think their entire A squad should be there, at least.

Hope you enjoy playing at old De Meer and manage to actually get some goals out of what proved to be a great transfer flop at the time, the Hungarian striker Pál Fischer.

Does this go down to the Vauxhall Conference and Wycombe Wanderers. I guess not, but if so I am getting it, would be a nice challenge and new lease of life for FM06

yeh its good fun so far, I'm trying to bring steve bull in (im a wolves speccy) as my striker and im employing a sort of 3-4-3 with masses of creative freedom/position swapping etc.
