I've never thought about this before but after replying an away game to Newcastle seven times and getting the same result seven times i am starting to think they are. I am Man Utd and i have used different formations each time, different tactics each time, different players each time and different teamtalks each time but each time they win 1-0. I know this sound stupid but is there some kind of predetermined score before each game?
Not at all, I played 4 games the other morning before going out, and instead of pressing yes to 'save game before quitting', I pressed no, so had to replay these 4 games and got 4 completely different results
i dont think its the result thats predetermined...if your conceeding in the later minutes of the game each time then it probably has to do with the other team going for the win nearer the end maybe you've contained them/they've contained you to this point but would stand for logic that their pushing harder near the end and your not countering that
IMO what basically happens is the AI managers respond to key incidents and general trends depending on scorelines as well as what you change in the game, hence the 'processing' icon that appears any time you make changes in a match. It also probably depends on the characteristics of the manager. There is also a randomness built into the match engine. So to answer no, and as Marseille07 said must have been a coincidence. For example if you load up the game again and play a ridiculously attacking formation and mentality then dollars to doughnuts it won't be 1-0 again.

The one thing i dont get is they only score one past me when i played 4-4-2 and they only scored one past me when i played 3-2-3-2 but i would of thought that me playing such an attacking formation would have conceded more or atleast scored one myself
It depends on what formation they played - the ai has 6 versions of its own 442. It often changes mod game if it is struggling against your tactics, and unles syou have a diablo formation, you should aim to change with it to counter the threat.
They are PRECALCULATED, but not predetermined. There's a huge difference. Precalculated means that the result of a match is calculated and then the highlights are being shown to you while the match goes through, however once you adjust your tactic again, the game would recalculate again and show you the results of your tactical change and such. Predetermined means that the result of a match is fixed beforehand and no tactical change can change it, and that's not true.
