after trying a couple of the tactics on here my mind wondered back to how good the diamond shape worked, and so i tried my own...
i wanted dfence and posession to be my priority and so built my tactic from the defence to attack...
i wanted to play a fairly high d-line, to keep pressure on the opposition, and set my gk into a makeshift sweeper:-
GK ment 7, CD 6, CF 0...for this you need a good, decisive keeper...
i then wanted to use the logic of having my outfield players to act in a group of 5 defensive players and 5 attacking players...
FB ment 5, CF 4, passing 6, CD 5, FR'S mixed, through balls mixed, croos ball often (deep)
CB ment 3, CF 2, passing 11 CD 5
DMC ment 7, CF 11, passing 6, CD 17
attacking block:
WINGERS ment 15, CF 15, passing 6, CD 14, FR'S + crossing (mixed) both at max
AMC ment 14, CF 14, passing 6, CD 15, FR'S + through balls often, the rest mixed
FC ment 15 (slightly more for right fc, quicker) CF 16, passing 5, CD 15, FR'S + through balls often. rest mixed
the relevant team instructions are as follows:
tempo 12, width 14 (narrower if defensive), time waist 5 (increase at later points of the match), d-line 5-8, passing mixed (down flanks if defensive), zonal marking, tight marking
ive used this for 5 games and won 3 friendlies and 2 premiership games...
2-0 portsmouth (h)
1-0 wigan (a)
i had more posession and shots in both...
im pretty happy with this but all comments/advice would be appreciated...thanks
