Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Just wondered if anybody could test my tactic. Ive tried it with udinese, milan and messina. Won the league with udinese and milan, came 3rd with messina. All three occasions i had the best defensive record. Its not an exciting tactic but for thos who love their chelsea style grit and determination football then you should enjoy this.

ok. The mentality is split - 5 defend, 5 attack
The 5 defensive minded players have individually set mentalities whereas the attacking players are set to the global mentality.
The formatio was chosen for its defensive efficiency and its ability to be able to keep possesion.
The passing and tempo are geared up for possesion football.i.e. slow short passing. This creates a slow build up play and the creation of some quality chances.
I think the key for its defensive capabilities is having good fullbacks aswell as two defenders who are good at heading and jumping as the tactic may be suseptible to a number of crosses.
The three central midfielders are the engine force for this tactic and provide the creative play.

Are there any specific questions for the tactic?

You have given information on your tactic but perhaps if you were to give more such as:

The kind of players that are required, how this tactic plays offensively and defensively and perhaps whether you use the tactic without any tweaks. Such information would allow people to understand it more. I doubt anyone here is going to just pick up a tactic and have a go.

I, too, love the Italian football.
People love goal-scoring football; I like to see goals too, no question about it. But at the end of the day it is defensive football that wins championships.

I will give it a go and let you know the results.

Alright mate, although I started testing with high expectations, the result was rather disappointing;

5 games in, W3 D2 L0 GF11 GC4

Four goals in five games isn't my provision of an Italian football; I have tactics that average 23-25 goals in 38 games with Inter.

I used this tactic with my Milan team and thought i was on a winner, i had won 3 games with it convincingly, then I went into my champions league group stage and in the game against Man Utd, Rooney made this tactic look like SH*T, they were up 2-0 in the first 15 minutes, he was running straight through a strong midfield and defence of my team, luckily my orginal tactic help me get a 3-3 draw, Ironically Rossi scored the Equaliser for me after i got him on loan for the season.
