This tactic worked really well for me.
With SUNDERLAND it started like a rocket, but you know how after awhile you 'lose games you should have won'? In the first half of the season i lost 5 games like this.
So for the second half of the season i used the Home, Away and a new version. With the new version i just increased width, reduced the d-line and tempo. This gives you more room to play. In the second half the season i lost one game and won the title with over 100 points.
The game is NOT scripted the way some of us think it is. Yes, it is annoying when you pump shots at the goal only to lose - because it's not visable as to what is wrong. However, just like the 4-2-4 you
CAN adapt and out think the AI.
With NUNEATON i gained promotion using mainly the Home & Away tactic. So should i continue using this same tactic that has proved so successful for them?
NO!
The home version is a good attacking tactic but that is not suitable for a newly promoted team. After 2 League both of which i lost, i decided to try and change my train of thought. I kept the shape but reduced the mentality and d-line for home games, dropped to very defensively in away games. A few games later and i'm now just inside the play offs. With each improved result my odds get better so i can start opening up slightly.
As WWFAN said in another thread 'If it happens once then shrug it off, twice then be suspicious, three times then do something about it!
