Anyway, what a start! The previous manager should not only have been scaked, he should have been shot!

Due to budget and wage restrictions I could only bring in schoolboys for the future and those players who had "been out of the game for x months", so basically over then a tenner and theyll be yours forever.

So not a lot of team building then.

Just picked the players on their ability and stormed up the league.

32 points from my 18 games - 15pts from his 16.

Im not boasting - in fact teh opposite, just pointing out what a good squad I have especiall in midfield and with two wingers who can play up front too, including one 17yo who I have very high hopes for.

Finished 1 place outside the playoffs, but I was more than happy with that.

Goal next year has to be at least the playoffs, if not 1st place.

Season 2010/11

Players in: 16 - 30k (30k max)
Players out: 11 - 252k (250k max)

I sold our high earing midfielder for 250k. He was good, but his wages of 2.4k were OUTRAGOUS for team in our position with an overall budget of 11k. I decided to cash in in January, to hopefully bring us into the black.

I bought a load of kids, and a dutch LB for 30k who I had high hopes for, but eventually went on to sell in the close season (for 30k again). Things just weent working out between us.


This was hopefully to be our breakout year. It started well. At the half way point we were sitting pretty in 2nd hot on the heels of the league leaders who'd had an amazing start of 10wins in 11 games, but were starting to stumble a little.

Unfortunately so were we. An unbeaten run of 10 games saw us (very) slowly slide down the table - it seemed everyone was having trouble, and we found ourselves in 6th - 1 place out of the playoffs) we then recovered well to seal our spot with the penultimate game of the season, but we lost our last game of the season 3-1 against playoff chalengers Gela - to finish 5th - the final playoff spot - which ended up being more important then I could ever imagine.

10 points off 1st place which was disappointing as we had had about 34 points at the half way point, but Id exceeded the boards predictions so they were happy.

Play offs

Semi
Gela - won 2-1 at home.

Gela - away - Conceeded a penalty after 10 minutes which we saved. Then scored a quick double (including a penalty ) and everything was looking great. they scored on the stroke of halftime, to make it 2-1.
2nd half was suprising ly easy and we won 3-1 (5-2 ag)

Final

Castelnuovo

Drew 0-0 home and away. Looking forward to extra time, only to find out that in Italy, they decide who goes through based on final standing. Boooooo! So we were out tahnks to Castelnuovo finishing 2 places and 1 point (!) ahead of us in the regualr season.

Ah well. Roll on next year. If it hadnt been for the 3 poonts in 10 games blip, we wouldve gone up as champions. Such is life.

Highlights included my mid20s winger/striker winning the golden boot with 28goals, and my 17yearold winger striker breaking the league record for assists.

Cups - not entered in the main Italian cup. Quaters of the C cup, no money, but a good run.
