That would be a joke considering his fitness record...
Your game doesn't look very LLM, to be honest, dom, but at least you're sticking to the other rules - you can always start a new game, as it's unlikely you'll be offered a job in the lowest divisions now (average wage is circa £100 per week - I imagine you're on a lot more than that, so they'll probably consider you too expensive).
Well, if anyones interested, I decided to give it one more year to see if I could oush onto Europe.
Season 08/09
Players in: 6 3.2M (2M high)
Players out: 7 900k (inc. record signing winger who got the arse ache, so I shipped him out for 850k) - in a dazzling display of non-drunken drunkLLM I bought a centreback to replace him for a million. I dont know why I though he was a winger, but teh transfer deadline was fast approaching and i had cash burning a hole in my pocket.
I bought last years player of the season in the Swiss superleague - a dutch cm - from newly relegated Schaffhausen, and remoddeled my tactics a little to accomodate him. With high creativity he soon became an essential part of my team with an average rating of almost 7 and a half, despite only having 3 assists.
Steeve was being hit and miss on the left this year, but my morrocan ST from the old days was still banging them in, with aforementioned fat Aussie striker playing an admirable supporting role (having slimmed down a little) with 7 goals and assists at the half way point.
Well it looked like I might have made the right decision to stay after all. Some good performances without ever really hitting top gear and some lucky performances meant we found ourselves in second spot and in the semis of the cup, thanks to a favorable draw.
NOw for the long and boring 3 month ski season.
W8 D7 L3 GD+9 pts 39
Drew too many games so 8points off the top, but 4points clear of 4th place.
Well I guess we wont find out how that season ends because as of Feb 4th 2009...
Etienne Verveer apointed new Canvey Island Manager
Thats right.
In a bid to improve his reputation, ET has decided to move to England, and specificaly the English Conference South. No more paying aging Aussie strikers almost 10k a week. Back to part time football, and a wage budget of 3.1k for the team.
Transfer budget apparantly 10k, but the previous manager must have spent all of that, because I have nada.
Just played my first game - against AFC Wimbledon no less - a nil-nil draw which we dominated because they were down to 10 men after 20mins, but the standard of football is very poor.
Canvey find themselves in 12th place with:
W9 D11 L8 38pts
Just 6points off the playoffs. The squad seems very poor and thin, so maybe next year, but I do bring a wealth of experience from the Swiss Leagues. Maybe Ill be as succesful (sic) as the ... Swiss ex-spurs manager? (rather safe then sorry on player naming).
PS contract dropped from about 5 1/2 k to 1.9k a week. Not bad for a p/t club. I only signed till the end of the season(despite a 2.5 yr contract), because I want to renegotiate my spending limits then if possible.
