Default Is scouting when you go to a bigger club still a load of pants on FM06?

On my TNS save, when I was at TNS, my scouts couldn't stop finding me promising young players - I would have almost hundreds of reports.

Since I moved to Sheff Wed, my scouts come up with about 5 players a season. It's so frustrating

At TNS the scouts were spotting players at really small clubs (NI 2nd division, etc.), so I'm thinking it might be a reputation thing - these players are too lowly for a Premiership scout?

Similar experiences? Has it improved?

Same happens to me - i think its because they tend to look for players who might possibly have a chance of going straight into your first team.

Think about the level of football TNS and Sheff Weds play at. TNS stars could come from the non-league teams and free transfers and will significantly improve your squad. However Sheff Wednesday players need to be better, and their 16-17 year old youth players should be capable of bettering TNS players. So if your scout is being realistic, they are going to find less players capable of going straight into your first team, especially if you have to be wise with your pennies.

Yes, but IRL you don't send out scouts solely with the intention of finding players ready to go straight into your first team. You also send them out to find potential gems.

I prefer to find players when they are young and develop them rather than purchase ready-made talent for mega bucks.

I have two games running, in one I'm Liverpool champions of Europe greatest club on earth etc and in the other I'm Accrington Stanley (who are they?). The scouts are rubbish for both, I've hired the best i can find for Liverpool; poaching them off other top clubs etcx and then they send me reports saying such and such (who is obviously an up and coming talent) is a bag of crap with no future in football I often get so annoyed I sack them on the spot even though it costs me 400k to pay off there contract tut my Accrington scouts seem to tell me everyone they see who posesses two legs would be a good buy except for a league one player whose younger brother plays for a Russian carpet bagger, both my scouts agree hes a bag of crap and not worth bothering with

made me laugh so much i nearly choked considering I'd previously had about 190 positive scout reports in a row lol

I think the scouting in the Premiership is pretty good. It is still very tough to attract very good players to the club which is realistic. It is like Wimbledon when they were in the Premiership trying to attract one of the glamour boys in the game .. It is just not going to happen. It means for my three seasons in the premiership with Basingstoke I have been treading water. Trying to attract that one player that can take us to the next level is tough so I am just trying to fill in the gaps and hope we can have inch up the table. At the moment a good season for me is one where I can sign more decent players then want to leave the club and seek their fortune else where.. B@STARDS!!
