Hello, I'm new to the LLM forum and game. I've tried a few Workington seasons to no avail, however I've been getting better slowly.
My biggest issue is figuring out where to play players and what their instructions should be.
In any case my question is if I'm doing a LL team in another country, say Italy (I got randomed to a Serie C2 team), which players should I load. I went with italy, detail normal, all the way to c2 and loaded all players from italy. Is that the best way to load a LL game? Or should I do something different
I usually have only leagues of one country loaded in my games and stick to that one, so I make use of retaining players. I pick only a normal sized DB and retain players of the country I play in, and of the countries whose players can be most often found in the country I play in.
For example: when playing in Austria, I retain players from Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia and Croatia.
That way I don't get millions of English players in Austria over time (the Huge DB is full of them), and the amount of these foreigners in the Austrian leagues remains pretty much constant. I feel that this ensures for myself the most realistic environment for playing.

I've never had a problem when loading all players from the country I'm based in, because there aren't enough players left over from the domestic clubs to allow large numbers to go overseas. More importantly, however, the latest patch was supposed to eliminate many of the problems with clubs signing too many foreign players, and there may have been additional tweaks in the area of EU players as well.

I tend to do the same. At present I am in the Eglish conf South and have loaded all players from Scotland, wales, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland as you find lots of these nationalities in the english leagues.
I would be careful retaining players from more exotic places as it does unbalance the game.
Not many, really, other than what you see in Serie A. I think you'd be fine to load all players from Italy and leave it at that. There will be plenty of players from the big countries loaded anyway, to provide top talent for international competitions and Serie A.
Loading all the players from another Nation unbalances a game.
The best way to play an LLM game, agreed for several incarnations of this game, is to load up the biggest available Db and play your game.
SI go to pains to make sure the game's as balanced as possible, loading a smaller Db and loading all the players from another Nation undoes all this work.
Loading all the players from the Nation you're playing effectively excludes players from other Nations and so unbalances the game in favour of the played Nation.
Stay away from loading all players from one Nation to play LLM in the fairest way.
