Backed up by experiences shared by quite a few of us. Having been here longer is not what his post is about. The fact is that having been here longer means having gone through numerous iterations of new versions, with all that brings with it.

After every new release hordes of new guys venture to this forum and they are welcome to. All we ask is that they abide by the header and start relevant threads. Personally I believe the response to this particular thread was an overreaction. However, I reserve the right to treat new guys who come in here breaking the rules in the same manner I always have.

Politely telling them to get in line or feck off.

Some do, however, most are offended by the fact that we do not bow to them and accept their ways as our own. That's how it has always been and that's how it will always be. The only difference is that these days new entries are treated far better than they were 3 years ago.

I don't expect them to to be grateful about that, but I do expect them to treat me as politely as I treat them.

If you do think the replies to your post were harsh I suggest you grow a thicker skin or take you business elsewhere.

I have never once expected or requested patience. If someone posts a topic naming players, asking for help, wanting tips, hell, lynch the basta*ds.
But i didnt do that so don't lynch me.

People in this forum do play the 'been here longer' card all the time. The previous large post has at least two mentions of this in the form of 'lived through all that shyte' and 'which i'm sure you don't remember' comments.

So, to say that you don't give a rats arse who has been hear longer when it clearly bothers you to some extent is a bit of a contradiction.

I think it is mentioned in history thread. Hwoever, as I mentioned we were flooded with 1st or 2nd division updates at the time. And if that weren't the case, the updates became forgotten by their owners after two seasons. Hence, three season rule.

Because 8 of the top 10 non-sticky threads were constantly updates and because, with the exception of 2 or 3, they were crap.
