I don't think the issue is your carrer (career!) thus far.
The issue appears to be that your original post was with regards to something that was perhaps better suited to the bugs or GQ forums. Personally I think there may have been some over reaction but I'm new and haven't really earnt the right to comment! |

Even if you'd said you were managing Workington it's still not an LLM issue. However, as you've no doubt gleaned *some* people can get away with it, *some* can't.

Johnny... What you probably wanted to do is start some sort of ranting thread. No porblem. It is just that you parafrased it in a way that it sounds like it is a GQ question.
I agree there has been some overreaction. But, what do you expect? Most of the regulars here have seen much of abuse, windups, txtspking, smartarsing etc. of some noobs. It is almost natural to jump, when you are being trained to.

I've been a lurker for a good long while and what I have noticed is that a selection of the regulars only contribute to the forum by flaming new posts.
Occasionally very funny, i'm sure you'll agree, but is it not getting a bit tiresome?
Without these new posts the forum would die a slow death. If you look at all the new posts raised, very few of these are raised by regular posters.
Basically, what I'm saying is that if it weren't for people like me posting the above, certain regulars would have nothing to respond to and the forum would stagnate.

Our Scottish mod started a thread on 'unusual occurences'. This could easily be a GQ thread.
My impression is that the LLM forum is for people who play the game the same way, therefore these types of threads are valid, as we want views from people who play the game the same way as us rather than the general plebs in GQ.
Surely we don't need some sort of 'qualification period' before people are able to post threads. |

| Ffs. Try to understand that being a regular means that you spent here a tad more than a few months. How many topics with "Which team is the hardest?", "LLM in English 1st division (Championship)", "I am playing Manure and my game crashed" did you see so far? I can tell you how many I saw. Literally thousands. And it is this annoying questions that forced us regulars to retreat and just check when someone is really saying some serious shyte.
I remember days before CM 4. Things were not as quiet as are nowdays. We had some reall long updates (like BoroPhil's). We had some serious discussion. But mostly, everyone knew where they were. After CM 4 with attribute masking and fans confidence, more and more people found out that being a Manure or Arse-enal fan is not all sugar and sweets. We had a blast of new above menitoned topics, disputes about LLM ethics, updates that started in 2nd division, higher or compatible eve though the header says no way.
There was a time, which I am sure you don't remember, when evry single update (except two or three legendary) was purged from this forum and creation of new ones was prohibited.
And those people, who are you now judging that they are only barking at noobs, lived thorugh all that shyte. That is exactly why most of us stopped posting here on regular basis and that is exactly why it seems we only do the flaming. The thruth however is (and I will speak for myself now) that I am fed up with posting non-stop to the same discussions I read here from when I joined. Specially those that start in the manner this one has.

The interweb has changed in that time, too. More and more people are finding places like this and with that comes less and less respect, and, hence more and more suspicion.
If I read 'what can you talk about here then' one more time
/me feels some shame at falling into kov's 'only been here a few months' description :o

If you can't understand it, it is your problem. I am done explaining.
