Hi all!

I am playing my 5th season with a Hungarian NB1B team: Diosgyor. Sadly, in CM03-04 no Hungarian lower leagues are present (just nb1 and nb1b), so I have to manage my favourite team.

Before posting my first season, I would like to ask everyone to forgive my poor English! I have been learning English for just 2 years, and seem to have grammar problems.

Some facts of my favourites/and hungary:

The golden team of diosgyor won a bronze medal in 1979.
We are the best supporters in Hungary, the average attendance is usually above 12000, the highest in the country.
Sadly we went bankrupt not too long ago, and were forced to sell our best players, and were relegated to the NB1B.

My aims with the team: Win the Hungarian NB1, and qualify for the Champions League.

I am playing cm03-04, with small database, all (2) hungarian leagues, German Bundesliga, Spanish La Liga, Croatian div. 1, and Czech div. 1 running. (spanish, german and croats are good in handball, and I like the czech)

Diosgyor have 0 to spend, adequate facilities, and a stadium, which is a ruin. (as IRL)

Pre Season 03-04

Pre-season went with making my squad a whole.
The keepers were fine for div. 2, no need to strengthen there.
The defenders were OK, but I had to sign a hungarian LB for free, and a CB for coach/backup.
My wingers and strikers are not good, but I cant get any better, so they will have to do.
I was in desperete need of at least 2 centre midfielders. One came on a free, and one on a season loan from Debrecen.

Season 03-04

The main contenders for nb1b and promotion were Vasas and Honvéd (they were recently relegated from nb1, and have the best squads in div.2)

The season started well, at home we won 8 games in a row, and I started to think we can win the div. 2, and get promoted this year.

Sadly, this proved to be a mistake. After the winter brake, we had a very bad run of results, becouse 3 of my 4 strikers injured, 2 of them were out for more then 3 months. This meant we were 4th in the end. Another season away from my dream...

This is a disasterous result for the fans, but we are optimistic that we will get promoted next year. Our squad is fine, just a DMC is needed. (I could not sign the guy who was on loan, he felt he was too good for Diosgyor. By the way, he was right)

In the Hungarian Cup, we were defeated 2-0 by a superior nb1 team.

Fans player of the year: a RB, who scored 2 goals, had 9 assists, and an average rating of 7,68 in 34 apps.

Surprise of the year: Bilbao won the La Liga!

pre-season 2004-05:
I sold my good (but aging) left winger for 40k euros, and from the money I could finally buy a young DMC from Debrecen reserves.
A striker, and an AML came on Bosman.
The youth team produced some talented looking yougsters: a gk and 2 dc's.

Season 04-05

The main contenders for the two promotin spots were Balaton Fc (relegated last year), Dunaújváros, and Diosgyor.

Theese 3 teams dominated the leage, it was a miracle when one of them got beaten. (only the top 3's goal difference was positive!) Again, the season started well, we have won nearly all of our games, and by Christmas we were top of the teable, but only by 3 points. I should say, the brake came at a wrong point.

After the winter brake we continued our great march, but only until we met Dunaujváros and Balaton Fc. We were beaten twice, and the whole teams morale was bad. This resulted in a cup defeat by our arch rivals Nyiregyháza, and a few other defeats by mediocre teams, such as Bodajk...

In the end, we were in 3rd place with only 2 poins behind Dunaujváros. We had to prepare for an other season away from the best.

Out: 1 (free)

Supporters player of the year: my new DM, with 6 goals, 9 assists, an average rating of 7,45 in 36 apps.

Surprise of the year:
Bilbao went bankrupt, and finished 15th
Sparta Praha reached the semi final in the UEFA cup
Debrecen triumphed over Nantes in the UEFA cup

2005-06 pre season:

I sold 2003's fans player of the year RB to Debrecen for 80k, and one of my backup strikers for 20k.
A good forward came on Bosman from Szolnok, and a promising mc came out of the youth system.
From the money of the sales I bougt a talented looking AMR from Dunaujváros reserves.

Season 2005-06

The main contenders for the 2 promotion spots were Vasas (relegated last year from nb1) and Diosgyor.

An other task was to get some practice to my home grown BC's. My 2 centre defenders told the press that they wish to retire at the end of the season.

In the beginning of the season we were badly beaten by Vasas, NyÃ*regyháza and Fc Szeged. 3 defeats in a row ruined the morale, and we were struggling for point. Luckily the other good teams were suffering too, and everyone knew that FC Szeged cannot maintain their superb form.

To be honest the whole team played bad all season, so it wasn't a great surprise that we haven't been promoted.

Now comes the good part, what saved my job: We won the Hungarian cup!!! We had lucky draws all along, and in the final we met Honvéd, who were relegated from nb1 by then. To the whole countries surprise, we triumphed, and received the grand prise of: (I could not believe it! This cup isn't worth the time!) 30k euros

Supportes player of the year: my DM, with 8 goals, 7 assists, and an avr. rating of 7,65. (sadly 6 clubs want him...)
