wewak is correct, I'm referring to someone using the search screen in FM. It's not feasible for someone to scout everyone on the search screen. Even on those lists, I'm sure players have nothing more listed than defender, midfield, striker or keeper. There's no way it says they're someone who can play centrally, or on one or both flanks. It would say their name, and their contact information, perhaps their basic position. Nothing more.
No need to get smarmy, stoutdrinkingcanuck. Perhpas I just didn't word my post in the most direct manner. Most of us LLM folk probably use the 2 methods I listed above, and little (perhaps nothing) else. So most of us avoid the transfer list under Player Search.
Ultimately, it's up to you. Do you feel the attribute fog is realistic enough? Do you feel that the transfer list combined with the attribute fog is realistic enough?
Personally, if the attribute fog was harsher (saw maybe 0-5 attributes per unscouted player), I might be tempted to use the Transfer List. As FM is currently designed, a UK manager knows way too much about 21 year old part-time Slovakians playing in Eastern Europe or a 15 year old who just signed for Rangers U19 for not having sent a scout.
