Default Burton Albion - The quest for Glory

Hello then! Ive decided to pick Burton, the goals? To win the premier league, fa cup, uefa cup and champions league and I wont stop playing this save until all four are ticked off! I know Burton arent from the Sth/Nth but they were tipped as relegation battlers and had a transfer of around 4k so I thought why not! Sorry in advance if this is too long

Season 2005/2006
Conferance
Players in - 23 16k
Players out - 11 625k

I got to the club and took a look at the list. Hmm, a few decent players but the rest had to go! I couldnt have imagined the start I was in for.. my young scottish striker caught the eye of Gretna and a bidding war began. I was up 500k pretty quick smart

With this money I decided that I would let my scouts (yes I decided one wasnt enough - the guy the club already had was hopeless) visit Central Europe so I could start building my squad.

First half of the season we were hopeless and had lost any chance of promotion. Actually we were in a relegation fight but things turned as my scout found a few gems including a 24 year old swedish striker who represented his country 3 times!

We blitzed the second half of the season (winning the last 10 or so games) and thought it wouldnt be a bad idea to win the FA trophy against Grays.

Cups:
FA Trophy: Winner (1-0 vs Grays)
FA Cup: 1st Round (2-5 vs Doncaster)

Season 2006/2007
Conferance
Players in - 28 9k
Players out - 16 850k

Got a handy regen(?) scout with 16/16 and decided him to search locally for some young blood. I got a few whipper snappers while my other two scouts toured europe dining on lobsters and fine wine!

Season was awesome. Bought good players, won the title with 9 games to go. Won the FA trophy again (on penalties this time)

Cups:
FA Trophy: Winner (1-1 vs Hereford)
FA Cup: 2nd Round (0-1 vs Grays)

Season 2007/2008
League 2
Players in - 19 1.4 million
Players out - 18 13.25 million

From the start to the finnish this league was ours. Destroyed everyone in our path and once against won the season with 9 games to go. I also got a portugese striker at the start of the season to compliment the swede and they soon became pals

Got the LDV Cup! The highlight - beating watford 5-0 at home in the semi finals

Cups:
League Cup: 2nd Round (0-2 Birmingham) - We beat Reading 2-0 in the first round!!
LDV Vans Trophy: Winner (3-1 vs Stockport)
FA Cup: 3rd Round (2-3 vs Blackburn replay from 1-1) We led this game 2 nil until one of my players got sent on, it went downhill pretty quick after that.

PS. I have been playing in euro's not pounds so the money is a little inflated.

I thought people should start in conference North/South when doing LLM in England.
And you could only scout your borders to begin with. But I might be wrong.

anyway, KUTGW

Yes but I was given the all clear to start conference. Your also right about scouting your own borders but I felt I could send 1 scout across the sea after making a big sale.

I would say that that is totally unrealistic.

The scouting sucks and so does your posting history, particularly "Not a story just some hot players for lower leagues: (in Good Player & Team Guide) by skywalk750 "

I would disagree.

At the time my wage budget was around 2k a week which I easily made in gate receipts. I sent a scout to watch central europe after selling a player for 500,000$.

A scouting period of 1 month I doubt would cost a significant ammount considering he only scouted low grade teams.

And yes my previous thread was uncalled for as I did not read the rules but it has nothing to do with this one.

Two points

1) Are you using "Scout your borders" or "Scout where you can tour" as a guideline?

2) Realism is an issue. If you scan the squadlists of conference clubs in real life, are they littered with central europeans?

Point 3 (for me anyway) - as the sale happened early you can hardly have fully scouted the UK and Ireland
